Men & Boys Should Not Be Marginalized in The Fight Against GBV

Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation that’s been perpetuated for ages beyond count.

It’s pervasive, but it’s not inevitable unless we stay silent. Be that as it may, men ànd boys are also suffering silently. The greatest challenge has been the little absence of detailed statistics.

Violence against men and boys has barely been undressed , but pointed merely as a footnote in reports.

Cases are going underreported and unacknowledged due to stigma, societal beliefs and stereotypes that alienate the gender as masculine inside-out. We also need more interventions to tackle violence against men and boys.

It is equally important to acknowledge that this ogre affects both genders. Men and boys should not be marginalized in the fight against gender based violence. They are weak too and deserve a second voice to theirs .
