The IGUACU falls

Iguaçu Falls is a chain of cascades that generate massive water sprays, making it one of the world's most stunning waterfalls. The falls are shaped like an extended horseshoe and span 1.7 miles, approximately three times wider than Niagara Falls in North America and significantly greater than the width of Victoria Falls in Africa.   The falls are divided into 275 individual waterfalls or cataracts by a series of rocky and forested islands on the edge of the cliff over which the Iguaçu River plunges. The waterfalls range in height from 200 to 269 feet. The falls' name, like the river's, is derived from a Guaran term that means "huge water."

Men & Boys Should Not Be Marginalized in The Fight Against GBV

Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation that’s been perpetuated for ages beyond count.

It’s pervasive, but it’s not inevitable unless we stay silent. Be that as it may, men ànd boys are also suffering silently. The greatest challenge has been the little absence of detailed statistics.

Violence against men and boys has barely been undressed , but pointed merely as a footnote in reports.

Cases are going underreported and unacknowledged due to stigma, societal beliefs and stereotypes that alienate the gender as masculine inside-out. We also need more interventions to tackle violence against men and boys.

It is equally important to acknowledge that this ogre affects both genders. Men and boys should not be marginalized in the fight against gender based violence. They are weak too and deserve a second voice to theirs .

Discovering your Purpose

Purpose
The purpose is the original intent for the creation of a person or thing; the specific function of somebody or a thing. Purpose is the answer to the question, what am I here for? Everybody, like all inanimate beings, was created for a purpose. There is a specific function or set of functions that you were placed on this earth to perform. It may as well be noted that life is a complementary system where every creature with its purpose is very important.

Once your purpose has been determined (self-realization), you're now like an electronic gadget. Just as the manufacturer installs within the product the ability to fulfil that purpose or to function according to his/her specifications. One needs to appreciate the necessity of self-realization in their journey. It is an integral part of digging out your passion from the rest of what you like and envy. Firstly, identify who you are and follow yourself into reality. Everybody has something that will enable him to be a success or realize their dream. Without that ability, performance is zero; it is the ability that makes the fulfilment

of purpose possible. So once you discover what your purpose is, it becomes a revelation of what you can do as well.
Potential
When the Almighty gives you a purpose to accomplish, he supplies the potential to achieve it.  Everyone has something or an ability to enable them to achieve their dreams. The major factor lies within you, which is in form of ideas, skills, gifts, and knowledge.
Do you want to identify your purpose? Check on these questions:
•What do you do without struggle?
•what are you able to do that you never learned formally?
•what do people say you are good at?
•what do you have the flair for?
Also, check on different forms of intelligence according to Howard Garner at Harvard University
Passion
•What do you have a passion for or love to do?
Passion is love for something or a strong enthusiasm for something that is uncontrollable when the cat decides to break out the sack! It comes with great intensity such that if it gets you off guard you stand to suffer much.
If you want to be a success or if you want to realize your dream you must be crazily in love with what you are doing; nothing more, nothing less. Unlike certain individuals who are living other people's dreams, following your passion makes this process of enjoying what you do easier.
Also, ask yourself these questions;
•What am I passionate about?
•What is the particular activity or things that excite me?
•what would I do even if I was not being paid for it?
•What do I get immersed in and cannot even see that time is flying away?

•what type of books and associations do I love to be part of?
Don’t try to be like anybody yet strive to be you. Remember that what separates you from the next person is what makes you unique.

CATCHING WILD PIGS

Karl Marx once said, "Remove one freedom per generation, and soon you will have no freedoms and no one will have noticed."

One day while the class was in the lab, a professor noticed one young man, kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him that he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country, who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.

Then, the student looked at the professor and asked a strange question,

"Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punchline. The young man said that it was no joke.

"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. At first, they are scared, but when they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly, the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor,

"That is exactly what I see happening in many countries. The governments keep pushing us towards Communism/Socialism and keep spreading the free corn out in the form of programmes such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income,   Free / subsidised Rations , Caste Benefits, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops, welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., *while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time."

One should always remember two truths:

1. There is no such thing as a free lunch, and

2. You can never hire someone to provide a service for you, cheaper than you can do it yourself.

If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy, there is hope.

If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then God help you when the gate slams shut!

Most of the problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living!
